MY THOUGHTS
I often sit and think of how
This life of mine began
The course it's taken until now
And just how it will end
I close my eyes and I can see
Sweet memories galore
Mostly of my childhood days
My family's love and more
My children playing at my feet
How those thoughts make me smile
I wish I could turn back the clock
For just a little while
The men I loved
The jobs I had
The friends I've made
The life I led
I used to think I'd have the time
To do everything just right
But half my life is over now
Are my dreams in sight
My family's grown
And on their own
And now it's time for me
To settle in
Until time end
The future I can see
A job that'll be
Shear pleasure for me
And a love to call my own
My lifelong friend
Hearts and souls to blend
A place that I'll call home
I hope I've earned, the right to have
This prayer come true for me…
